On Wednesday 13 September 2017, our Research & Development (R&D) center in Bengaluru had its official inauguration. The event was led by John Jansen, a founder of Dynacommerce, and supported by Rick Centeno and Saikat Mitra. In attendance were government officials and industry leaders including Irfan Vazirally – Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Krishna Byre Gowda – the Agriculture Minister for Karnataka, and Kamal Bali – Volvo India Managing Director and Chairman of the Karnataka Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
There are clear benefits to a Dynacommerce presence in India. The country has an advanced infrastructure and a large pool of talented engineers which we can draw from. India’s innovation hubs are advancing in areas which complement and enhance Dynacommerce’s products and services. Finally, India is a great location from which to access other emerging markets.
More than this, the launch contributes to diplomatic and trade relations between the Netherlands and India. “I am extremely delighted at the launch of Dynacommerce’s R&D Centre in Bengaluru,” said Rene Beerepoot, Attaché to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who believes that the R&D center “…will further enhance the economic cooperation between The Netherlands and India.”
For Rick Centeno, taking the decision to expand into India was easy: “India, alongside China, has the highest number of R&D centers in the world, mainly on account of the large numbers of engineering talent it produces. For me, it was a no-brainer to choose India as the main hub for building our own off-shore R&D Center.” His sentiment is echoed by Saikat Mitra: “the centers in India are becoming innovation hubs focusing on digital initiatives, including advanced analytics, cognitive computing and machine learning, automation & robotics, and virtual reality (VR). These technologies will be useful for us to enhance our omnichannel capabilities and get operational insights in real time.”
The R&D Center currently employees 35 highly-skilled individuals and we intend to double this number by the end of 2017.
